話說呢個site而家呢個moment係用係Namecheap既web hosting, 呢個web hosting 既 package只需 $9.88 一年, 咁呢$9.88包D乜野呢? 有 cpanel pre-script晒常用既 web package啦, 1G RAM啦, 20G disk storage 啦, unlimited bandwidth啦, 就咁講都真係幾so架, 而呢個price tag 真係無乜野可以complaint.
當然啦, 比較technical既朋友就會話 cpanel即係無 ssh/root access啦, 不如轉會用 Amazon AWS 既 EC2啦, 話晒都係VPS有full control, 另外又有一年FoC可以玩, 到時再捻啦. 咁呢樣野就當然係一個option啦, Amazon黎講,個心比較會捻 EC2 既 reserved instance. 3年既入門 EC2 reserved instance 係 prepaid$69 (512M RAM, 10G Storage, 1vCPU). 就咁講又係好似好抵好正! 但我mentor 黃老闆教落, Devil is in the details….. Amazon 係唔比你用SMTP既, 即係話唔可以send同收email. (要apply同另外會再收錢)
上星期係togglebox入佐$11落去起佐個server instance (同EC2一樣,係charge per hour), togglebox既instance係可以直接出街而無limitation, 但就同EC2一樣, 其實唔夠平. (約 $8 per month)
google佐一輪我搵到呢個VPS既provider叫 AlphaRacks , 而家subscribe佐個$12 per year既instance, 包 768M RAM, 40G storage, 2T bandwidth, 1vCPU, 1粒IP. 我OS pick 佐 Ubuntu 14 – 64bits, 當然要自己動動手upgrade去 ubuntu 16啦. 做完OS upgrade都只係燒得300M bandwidth.
經過基本測試, SMTP 係可以直接用既, 而2T bandwidth 對我呢個personal site黎講就應該more than enough (其實無人會睇既).
等我有時間會install埋mysql同php, 起埋webmail同wordpress及mautics再包膠一下.
